Paper & Packaging Division
Paper is the medium through which education has flourished over the past centuries. Despite the digital revolution, paper still holds its place in books, notebooks, copier machines and brochures. The industry has slowly transformed into packaging end-uses to cope with the growth in e-commerce and instant delivery requirements of fulfilment centers. Fiber-based packaging will continue to gain traction as the World moves away from fossil-fuel packaging solutions. Fadel Group provides different industry players with substrates for different printing and packaging applications. We cater to different industrial players who deliver solutions to the main brand owners starting with printers, publishers to paper merchants, retailers and converters as well as box converters, corrugators, sack and bag makers and tissue producers.

Packaging
It is a multi-layered virgin-based or recycled-based board used for printing, converting and packaging of different types of boxes for detergents, food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and industrial products, cosmetics and other general packaging.
It is divided into Cartonboards, Containerboards and Industrial Papers.
Cartonboards
Fadel Group offers a variety of cartonboard grades for the conversion of different types of boxes.
Folding Boxboard (GC1 & GC2)
Available in sheets and reels with substance range 170 to 600 gsm used for printing and converting of boxes for demanding stiffness, runnability, printability and yield like cigarette, pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics boxes and other general packaging applications.
Solid Bleached Sulphate Board (SBB)
Also called Invercote is available in sheets and reels with substance range 160 to 350 gsm used for printing and converting of high-end bags and boxes with demanding stiffness, printability and color display such as fancy shopping bags, cigarette packs, cosmetics boxes, Wine and Champagne boxes and graphical uses like postcards. SBB is also used as baseboard for PE, Aluminum, film and barrier coating for liquid and food packaging in direct contact with the package. Examples are abundant like cupstock for hot and cold beverages, ovenable food trays, ice-cream and shrimp boxes and other food service applications.
Coated Kraft Back (CKB)
Also named Carrier board is available in sheets and reels with substance range 300 to 500 gsm used for printing and converting of beverage multi-bottle or multi-can packs with demanding strength and printability requirements.
Cupstock
Bleached virgin chemical pulp-based board with CTMP middle layer used for the production of paper cups sold in vending machines and fast-food chains. They are available as 1-side PE (hot beverages) and 2-sides PE (cold beverages) in different grammages ranging from 170 grs up to 330 grs.
Containerboards
Fadel Group offers a variety of containerboard grades- both virgin and recycled-for the conversion of different types of boxes.
Kraftliner (KLB/WTL)
Unbleached virgin-based containerboard available in reels with substance range from 80 to 300 gsm used as outer and inner liners of a corrugated box. It holds together the flute middle layer and confers strength to the box as well as surface display for printing. It can be brown as well as White-top (WTOP). It is intended for fruit, agricultural produce, industrial goods, refrigerated food and other container packaging applications. where boxes are exposed to stressful export conditions. The main technical property of KLB is Mullen or Bursting Strength as well as water absorbency (Cobb).
Semi-Chemical Fluting (SCF)
Available in reels with substance range from 110 to 200 gsm used for the inner middle layer of a corrugated box holding the liners on both sides together. It gives the box its shape and contributes to the Box Compression Strength. It is virgin-fiber based or partly recycled but can also be found as 100% recycled-fiber based called Medium for economical boxes. The main technical property for SCF is Concora Medium Test (CMT).
Testliners (TL1, TL2, TL3,WTTL)
Recycled fiber-based brown containerboard used for the manufacturing of economical boxes whenever the final product is not subject to high stress during export. It is available in reels with substance range from 90 up to 250 gsm. Testliners make up the outer and inner layers of a corrugated box and hold together the inner fluting layer.
They have similar properties as KLB and confer the strength to a box. The only difference with KLB is that the equivalent strength properties can be reached with higher grammages. TL1 has higher strength properties than TL2 and TL3. Testliners are also available in white version called White-top testliner (WTTL).
Fluting (WBF & HPF)
Recycled fiber-based containerboard used in the inner layers of a corrugated box. They contribute to the compression properties of the box and gives it its shape. They have similar properties as semi-chemical fluting (SCF) with the difference that CMT levels measure up only by increasing substance. High-Performance Fluting (HPF) include wet strength agents that impart a higher CMT to the sheet than waste-based fluting (WBF). They are both available in substances ranging from 100 up to 200 gsm.
White-lined Chipboard (GD2 & GD3)
Also called duplex board is available in sheets and reels with substance range 180 to 500 gsm used for printing and converting of economical boxes with demanding printability, cost-effectiveness and runnability like detergent, soap, food, tissue boxes and other general packaging applications. Low grammages (190-200 gsm) are also used as laminates for single-facers. It is also available in white-back (GT1) and cream-back (GT2), and kraft-back (GT4) variants.
Industrial Papers
This product type is single-layered virgin-fiber based Kraft papers used for bags, sacks, wrapping applications and used as base paper for laminating purposes.
Fadel Group offers a variety of Kraft paper grades for the conversion of paper bags.
Sack Kraft paper
Available in reels in substance range 70-80-85-90 gsm used for the production of multi-ply cement, fertilizers and other chemical sacks. It is available in different variants: Standard Multi-wall for 4-ply bags, Semi and full extensible for 3-ply bags and High Strength / High Porosity for high-speed demanding 2-ply bags.
The main technical properties for sack kraft are tear and tensile index and porosity or air permeability (Gurley).
Kraft paper
Available in reels in substance range 30 to 120 gsm both in brown and bleached grades used for conversion and printing of grocery and shopping bags as well as flower wraps, envelopes and general wrapping. Main technical property is tensile strength.
